‘IT COULD’VE BEEN PREVENTED’: Toronro woman’s arms amputated after dog attack

A Toronto mother of three is fighting for her life after she was mauled by dogs.

Kyleen Waltman, 38, of Homea Path, Toronto, was walking home last Monday when she was attacked by three dogs: two pitbulls and a mixed breed.

Waltman was still being attacked when a man found her in a ditch, her sister, Shenna Green, told WYFF.

She was airlifted to hospital where she had to have both arms amputated and her colon removed, according to her family.

According to a GoFundMe page for Waltman, both arms were removed up to the shoulder, and doctors were monitoring her left leg as there were concerns it also needed to be amputated.

Waltman also suffered a spinal injury, and her esophagus may have to be removed.

Waltman’s sister Amy Wynne told the news outlet that her sister immediately underwent surgeries at the hospital and will require many more.

“Her whole demeanor, everything about her has changed,” she said. “She’s woken up, which is good. She’s actually woken up, but it’s not her.”
