Hamilton police have arrested a woman who allegedly had her dog attack 11 people.
On Thursday, at 7:00 p.m. police were called to 1042 Barton St., E. for a threatening in progress call that police called a “chaotic scene”.
Police say a 32-year-old dog owner let her dog loose in an establishment and was encouraging the dog to attack people.
Police used their conductive energy weapon to control the aggressive dog and stop the attacks.
The dog died on scene.
The victims had minor to serious injuries and two of them will need to have surgeries.
The Hamilton woman who owns the dog is facing six counts of criminal negligence cause bodily harm, four counts of utter threat to cause death or bodily harm, and assault with a weapon.
“The accused remains in custody. As the charges are not sworn to before the court at this time the accused’s name can not be released,” police said in a release.
